After introducing you to all our products over the last few months, it’s time to let you in on our 100% Made In France expertise! 🇫🇷

Producing cardboard is a complex process that requires specific know-how and expertise. 🏭💡

This month we start with the composition of our board, made up of different layers: bleached and unbleached mechanical pulp, chemical pulp and a specific coating depending on the product and its use. 📦🔍

All these elements are manufactured in our different workshops in La Rochette, as we are an integrated factory.

A look back at our company event at Lac Saint Clair!

On Saturday 8 June, we organised a friendly country-style meal for our employees at Lac Saint Clair in La Rochette / Détrier.

This event was much more than just a meal, it was an opportunity to strengthen ties, share moments of conviviality and celebrate our corporate values: commitment, respect and team spirit.

The programme included

🍽️ A barbecue with local produce

🎉 A lottery with prizes to be won: a connected speaker, gift vouchers (restaurants, local shops) and gift boxes!

✨ A surprise show: the magician Robin Geyer, who captivated our employees with his interactive and humorous close-up.

Thank you to all our employees for their participation and for helping to make this a convivial moment!

Following the presentation of the Rochcoat in May, this month we’re spotlighting the Rochcoat Blanc. ⚪

What are its characteristics?

✅ A FBB board for folding cartons coated on one side with a white back – GC1.
✅ More intense whiteness thanks to the chemical paste for the outside coats.
✅ Designed for all kinds of packaging uses.
✅ Suitable for direct food contact and neutral taste in the Robinson test.
✅ Has all the properties needed to guarantee excellent printing and varnishing quality.
✅ Suitable for inkjet and laser coding.

Collaboration with the Fibr’Etik association

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of our company, in 2023 we installed covers on the front of our administration building.

♻️ To give them a second life, we worked with the Fibr’Ethik association in Saint-Pierre-d’Albiny. Rather than incinerating them, Fibr’Ethik transformed our covers into tote bags in its eco-leather workshop. These unique creations are made by employees who live in the Coeur de Savoie area, who are far from employment and are retraining to regain their confidence and access the job market.

🎁 These tote bags are destined to become gifts for our employees and customers at events or physical meetings.

🇫🇷 We are proud to have created this social and solidarity-based project, 100% Made in France!

Our regular quality controls

At La Rochette Cartonboard, we are committed to maintaining the quality of our products at every stage, from receipt of raw materials to dispatch to our customers.

Our procedures include rigorous testing, supported by state-of-the-art equipment such as our Autoline automatic test bench. This tool allows us to check the quality of the board on essential criteria for floding box board, such as rigidity, Bendtsen, thickness and brightness, ensuring the consistent quality of our products. 🔍

We also carry out mechanical, optical and specific checks, such as grease resistance (KIT), to ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards. 📏🔬

We are proud to offer quality, made-in-France products to our customers. 🇫🇷

Launch party for our anniversary book

📘✨ To mark the official release of the book, we organised a launch party on 18 April 2024 at the Médiathèque in La Rochette. Christophe Lloret Linares and Jean-Bernard Dutrieux gave speeches highlighting the importance of this anniversary and expressed their gratitude to the many internal / external contributors.

🎙️ We were honoured to welcome speeches from Emilie Bonnivard, Member of Parliament for Savoie, Jacky Donjon, Deputy Mayor of La Rochette, Jean-François Duc and Stéphane Duparc, Vice-Chairmen of the Communauté de Communes Cœur de Savoie, as well as Roland Magdinier, former Secretary of the Comité Social et Économique in 1985, Maître Rebut, the liquidator who enabled Cascades to take over the company in 1985, and Robert Franck, a descendant of the company’s founders and a former manager.

We were delighted to welcome Jacky Bozet, a former member of the Comité d’Entreprise, who played a key role in the Cascades takeover.

This book retraces the history of our company from its modest beginnings in 1873 to its current status as a historic local player committed to sustainable development.
A true inter-generational link thanks to the testimonies of former and current cardboard makers, this book is intended to be educational, describing the behind-the-scenes workings of cardboard manufacture. It highlights the unique expertise of 300 men and women who work every day to produce high-quality, environmentally-friendly cardboard that is proudly Made In France.
