On Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 October, we were present at the Grenoble Alpes Métropole Careers Forum at the Alpexpo in Grenoble, on the Paper and Cardboard Industry stand. 📦 🏭

Alongside our counterparts at Papeteries de Vizille and Avery Dennison in Champ-sur-Drac, we presented our companies, showcased the trades in our industry and shared our career opportunities. 💼

Thank you to everyone who came to chat with us!

🌍🌲 In June 2023, the European Parliament adopted the European Deforestation-free Regulation (EDUR), aimed at prohibiting the placing on the market or export from the EU market of products that have contributed to deforestation or forest degradation.

Initially scheduled for 30 December 2024, the application of this regulation has been postponed to 30 December 2025 for large companies and 30 June 2026 for SMEs. This extra time will enable us to adapt to the new requirements as effectively as possible.

La Rochette Cartonboard SAS has always been committed to using responsibly sourced raw materials from sustainably managed forests. 🌳
We have been working in partnership with local sawmills for over 35 years and 100% of our fibre supplies are FSC® FSC – C120067, PEFC (PEFC/10-31-1001) and Controlled Wood certified.

We will continue to keep you informed of the progress and actions we are taking to ensure our compliance with the EUDR.

On 3 October, we opened our doors to 27 students from the Bac Pro MELEC and BAC Pro 3D courses at the Lycée Gaspard Monge in Chambéry, with whom we have a partnership.

Guided by Jean Bernard Dutrieux, Human Resources Director, and Maxime LEVEL, Maintenance Manager, these young people had the opportunity to go behind the scenes of our industry.

It was a great opportunity to show them our Made In France expertise and to inspire the next generation!

🌲🌍 In June 2023, the European Parliament adopted the Regulation against Deforestation and Forest Degradation (EUDR), which aims to prohibit the placing on the market or export from the EU market of products that have contributed to deforestation or forest degradation. This regulation must be applied by La Rochette Cartonboard SAS by 30 December 2024.

With less than 100 days to go before the EUDR comes into force, European trade organisations are joining forces to call for a postponement of its application.

Although we fully support the objectives of combating deforestation – with responsible sourcing of wood from certified sources to protect ecosystems for future generations and ensure the sustainability of our production – there are still many uncertainties as to the practical feasibility of these regulations.

Adapting to these new requirements cannot be rushed. It is therefore essential that the European Commission and the Member States adjust the schedule to enable a harmonious transition to a sustainable model, while protecting economic stakeholders.
