📅 From November 18 to 20, visit us at Stand No. 6-D46 – Hall 6, alongside Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Entreprises at Eurexpo Lyon.

We are delighted to represent the region and showcase our products, our history, and our expertise.

A big thank you to Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Entreprises, who, through a call for applications, recognized the quality and sustainability of our virgin fiber cartonboard.

In June 2023, the European Parliament adopted the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which aims to prohibit the placing on the EU market or the export from it of products that have contributed to deforestation or forest degradation.

This regulation will come into force on December 30, 2025, for SMEs like La Rochette Cartonboard.

In this context, we are pleased to announce the signing of a commercial partnership with our chemical pulp supplier De Eendragt Alliancell, which has developed an EUDR management solution for its clients using the Supply Logica tool. This 2-year partnership demonstrates our commitment to complying with this regulation and strengthening our dedication to sustainable forest management.

This initiative also reflects our ambition “Towards New Summits”: to become a high-performing and sustainable long-term partner! 🌲

Wednesday, October 15, we had the pleasure of welcoming 24 students from Grenoble INP-Pagora, the international school for paper, printed communication, and biomaterials.

This morning was a great opportunity to introduce them to our history, our professions, our expertise, and our entire manufacturing process, giving future paper engineers a firsthand look at the industry! 🏭

On Thursday, October 9, we took part in the Grenoble Alpes Métropole Career Forum at Alpexpo in Grenoble, under the Paper & Board Industry stand. 📦🏭

Together with our partners from the Alp’Paper team — Papeteries de Vizille, Avery Dennison, and FREGATA HYGIÈNE — we presented our companies, showcased the diverse careers in our industry, and shared our professional opportunities. 💼

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with us! 🙌

In early October, La Rochette Cartonboard successfully passed its PEFC renewal audit, once again confirming our commitment to sustainable forest management and responsible sourcing.

The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) ensures that wood and wood-based products come from sustainably managed forests, in line with strict environmental, social, and economic criteria.

This certification confirms that:
✅ Our wood supplies are fully traceable;
✅ We prioritize responsible sourcing;
✅ We contribute to the preservation of forests.

👏 Congratulations to all teams for their hard work and dedication!

Factory tours are an important part of our year: clients, suppliers, students, and strategic partners come to discover our history, our expertise, and to meet our teams.

To make these visits more visual and educational, we have installed 14 explanatory panels at strategic locations throughout the site.

They help to better explain:
• Our process,
• The specificities of our professions and products,
• Our commitments to sustainable development.

These panels also support our guides by making the visit
or experience more professional, more visual, and accessible to all audiences.

Because explaining also means sharing, building trust, and moving forward together towards new heights!

Many thanks to our partner Imprimerie MBI for printing the panels!

Since early 2025, La Rochette Cartonboard has been part of the CertForAlp project – Certification of forest-wood supply chains in the Alps, developed under the Interreg France-Italy ALCOTRA program. 🍃

Two concrete actions are currently underway to expand certified forest areas, strengthen wood traceability systems, and enhance wood quality certifications:

1️⃣ Testing two certification processes within local supply chains (one in France and one in Italy). In these pilot territories, approaches and tools are being trialed to make certification more accessible for forest owners and companies in the sector.

2️⃣ Establishing a dedicated working group on certification communication (traceability and quality). The goal: to develop collective, cross-cutting actions that provide clear information to all stakeholders — going beyond the simple promotion of a label.

The Alpine forest resource is a precious asset: a renewable, high-quality wood, enhanced by local supply chains.

Since early 2025, La Rochette Cartonboard has been taking part in the CertForAlp project – Certification of forest-wood supply chains in the Alps, launched under the Interreg France-Italy ALCOTRA program. 🍃

This project plays a key role in a region highly sensitive to societal issues (landscape and tourism), such as the Alps between France and Italy. Forest management is often at the crossroads of debates between economic development and nature protection.

The project’s objectives:

– Strengthen certification tools for the management, origin, and quality of wood products from Alpine forest resources;

– Promote short supply chains while avoiding additional pollution;

Increase certified forest areas;

– Create a true opportunity for sustainable development in Alpine territories across France and Italy.

📢 Two demonstrative actions will be launched as part of the project… stay tuned for Friday’s announcement!

📊 According to the FAO, we lose around 10 million hectares of forest every year. Yet, only one quarter of the world’s 4 billion hectares of forests are currently protected or certified.

To tackle climate change and biodiversity loss, we all need to take action for forests: businesses, organizations, governments, and citizens alike.

🍃 At La Rochette Cartonboard, forest preservation is also part of our mission:

• FSC® certified since 2013, we prioritize FSC® raw materials to contribute to a future where forests and the communities who depend on them can thrive;

• The wood chips used to produce our mechanical pulp are sourced from local sawmills within a 100 km radius of our plant;

• The bark used as fuel for our biomass boiler comes from waste generated by nearby wood industries.
