On Saturday 14 October, together with the Mayor of Valgelon La Rochette, David Ates, Deputy Mayor Jacky Donjon and our Managing Director, Christophe Lloret Linares, we had the pleasure of inaugurating the Cedar sculpture in the Place Albert-Rey.

Two sculptors, Frédéric Nobili and Jean Bergeron, worked on this project, bringing to life the raw wood that forms the structure of the work and symbolises the basic raw material of our cardboard. They also sculpted reels and sheets of cardboard, our finished product. The sculpture ends with the Château de La Rochette overlooking the town.

This work symbolises the ties that have united our company and the town for 150 years. It is a testament to our local roots and our commitment, as a corporate citizen, to enhancing the attractiveness of the Commune, while at the same time highlighting our French expertise and our history.

The history of the factory is inseparable from that of Valgelon-La Rochette. We are therefore keen to create opportunities for the general public to share in celebrating France’s industrial heritage.

On Saturday 16 September, we were delighted to organise a special open day for the families of our employees.

130 people were able to go behind the scenes of the manufacture of our virgin fibre-based cardboard, which is sustainable and recyclable by nature. From the wood yard to the dispatch of our board in reels or pallets, via our biomass boiler, our machines and our quality laboratory, visitors were able to observe our French know-how and our strong commitment to sustainable development.

It was also a unique opportunity to spend some time together and share a convivial moment.

On Thursday 14 September, we were delighted to host a Partners’ Day dedicated to our customers, suppliers and strategic institutional stakeholders to celebrate 150 years together. 🎉

The day began with a convivial lunch, followed by tours of our plant. We met up again at the Château des Comtes de Challes for an exceptional dinner and evening, marked by the performance of magician, hypnotist and mentalist Robin Geyer.

Thank you to all our partners for their participation! We look forward to continuing to build our future together.

A big thank you also to our employees who warmly welcomed the visitors.

On Wednesday 14 June, we were delighted to welcome 10 former employees for a factory tour.

The day was like stepping back in time, as some of them had not been back on our premises for over 30 years!

It was a real moment of sharing, with fascinating discussions, memories, anecdotes and inter-generational exchanges.

The reunion was an opportunity to strengthen ties between former colleagues, celebrate our successes and remember that our company has been going strong for 150 years!

The next visit for our former employees is scheduled for 8 September! 🗓️

Summer means preventive maintenance for our plant, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round! 🛠️

This period allows us to keep our equipment in good working order and to concentrate on detecting potential problems. Our aim is to ensure continued customer satisfaction and guarantee quality products for the year ahead!

These actions require a prolonged shutdown to carry out all the required maintenance operations, particularly on essential elements such as our biomass boiler.

We work with trusted local and national partners such as P PRIME, IMECO and many others!

Have a great summer! ☀️

💬 “Today, more than 300 men and women write its history every day. The company is deeply rooted
in the Val Gelon region. Over and above its industrial, social and cultural heritage, it is a unique know-how that has been passed down from generation to generation. Throughout the year, La Rochette Cartonboard is organising a number of internal and external events to celebrate this unique milestone, with the involvement of the local community. “Valgelon Mag July 2023

Wednesday 5 July was a special day at La Rochette Cartonboard, as we had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from our long-standing customer LGR Packaging.

12 people from different sites came to our premises for a delocalised meeting. The morning was devoted to a tour of our plant, followed by an internal meeting in the afternoon.

The day helped us to develop our collaboration, work on our operational processes, improve our respective customer paths and thus strengthen our commercial relations. 🤝

From 3 to 7 July, La Rochette Cartonboard organised a week dedicated to quality of life and working conditions, with the 5 senses as the central theme. Each day, we offered an activity highlighting one of these senses, with the chance to win related prizes!

On the programme:

– A workshop on eyestrain led by our nurse, providing advice on how to maintain employees’ visual health
– Seated massages given by a professional: Salimata LACROIX from Murmures d’Anges
– A yoga session led by our QHSEE Regulations and Management Manager, Carole FORCET.
– A playful approach to the issue of noise, thanks to a training session led by a Cotral technician
– Communications on the importance of nutrition by organising a competition entitled “The strawberry recipe”. A fun and tasty way to promote healthy eating habits within our company.
– Hosting the Chez Fab foodtruck to bring employees together for a home-cooked, local meal!

A week dedicated to well-being at work and conviviality!

Many thanks 🙏 to all the activity leaders!
