💬 “Today, more than 300 men and women write its history every day. The company is deeply rooted
in the Val Gelon region. Over and above its industrial, social and cultural heritage, it is a unique know-how that has been passed down from generation to generation. Throughout the year, La Rochette Cartonboard is organising a number of internal and external events to celebrate this unique milestone, with the involvement of the local community. “Valgelon Mag July 2023

Thank you to the Commune of Valgelon-La-Rochette for this article highlighting our external events in association with local life and the local economy!

Wednesday 5 July was a special day at La Rochette Cartonboard, as we had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from our long-standing customer LGR Packaging.

12 people from different sites came to our premises for a delocalised meeting. The morning was devoted to a tour of our plant, followed by an internal meeting in the afternoon.

The day helped us to develop our collaboration, work on our operational processes, improve our respective customer paths and thus strengthen our commercial relations. 🤝

From 3 to 7 July, La Rochette Cartonboard organised a week dedicated to quality of life and working conditions, with the 5 senses as the central theme. Each day, we offered an activity highlighting one of these senses, with the chance to win related prizes!

On the programme:

– A workshop on eyestrain led by our nurse, providing advice on how to maintain employees’ visual health
– Seated massages given by a professional: Salimata LACROIX from Murmures d’Anges
– A yoga session led by our QHSEE Regulations and Management Manager, Carole FORCET.
– A playful approach to the issue of noise, thanks to a training session led by a Cotral technician
– Communications on the importance of nutrition by organising a competition entitled “The strawberry recipe”. A fun and tasty way to promote healthy eating habits within our company.
– Hosting the Chez Fab foodtruck to bring employees together for a home-cooked, local meal!

A week dedicated to well-being at work and conviviality!

Many thanks 🙏 to all the activity leaders!

On Saturday 1 July, we joined forces with the Harmonie l’Union de La Rochette to organise a concert entitled “Music for cardboard”. The event marked the celebration of our 150th anniversary and the official inauguration of the Musée St-Jean, as well as a number of cultural activities linked to the history of the cardboard mills organised by the municipality. 🎶

To mark the occasion, we exhibited some of the photos from our previous exhibition at the media library, including previously unseen shots of the town, our factory and the cardboard manufacturing process. Our film was also shown before the concert. 🎞️

We would like to thank the Harmonie l’Union for their magnificent musical performance, and the UCAR for organising the refreshment stand. Our thanks also go to David Ates, Mayor of Valgelon-La-Rochette, and Jacky Donjon, Deputy Mayor of La Rochette, for making it possible to organise these convivial events, which were open to the public and enabled us to share the emblematic history and close links between our factory and the commune.

History and music in the service of cardboard!

Who said cardboard couldn’t become a work of art? 🎨

On 22 June, at the paper pulp / cardboard manufacturers’ congress in Divonne-les-Bains, organised by the Association Française des Vendeurs de Pâtes, Christophe Lloret Linares and Francois Brunetaud had the opportunity to discover the creations of Laurent LECUELLE. Laurent uses cardboard to create reliefs and play with light in his works. 🖼️

We were captivated by the uniqueness and originality of his work. That’s why we decided to exhibit one of his works on our premises.

On Tuesday 27 June, the children from our town’s extra-curricular school got together at 5.30pm for a special activity. They sang a song about the history of the La Rochette cardboard mills and exhibited their drawings illustrating the process of cardboard manufacture through to recycling. 🎶 ✏️

We celebrated 150 years of success, innovation and partnership between our company and DS Smith, in the presence of the Mayor, elected representatives, parents and school staff. It was a moment of pride and joy shared by all!

On Saturday 17 June, we celebrated the 150th anniversary of our company 🎉✨ among our employees.

It was a memorable evening, full of conviviality, laughter and moments of sharing! It was an opportunity to celebrate our past, present and future successes, while highlighting the work of the men and women who have worked for 150 years.

We had the pleasure of sharing moments of complicity between colleagues, strengthening the bonds that unite us and creating precious memories.

Together, our teams will continue to write history in the service of cardboard! ✏️

📣🏐 On Sunday 11 June, an inter-company volleyball tournament, organised to mark our 150th anniversary, took place at the La Seytaz gymnasium in La Rochette! 🎉

This sporting event brought together 9 teams from various sectors: the Sapeurs-Pompiers, the association Futsal Rochette Olympique, the Harmonie l’Union de La Rochette, the Commune, DS Smith, Carrefour Market, the club Handball Rochettois, the Union Commerciale Artisanale Rochettoise (UCAR) and La Rochette Cartonboard.

We’re delighted to have been able to bring so many teams together, and we’d like to congratulate our team on their victory! 🏆
Well done also to the Rochette Olympique Futsal Association team for their superb performance, which earned them a fine second place. 🥈
Congratulations to the firefighters who took third place! 🥉

Well done and thank you to all the participants for their participation, involvement and fair play throughout the tournament!

Thank you to the spectators and volunteers who contributed to the success of this event.

See you next year !

On Saturday June 3, some fifty employees had the pleasure of attending the musical “Dracarys” presented by Compagnie Essentielle, at Montmélian’s Espace François Mitterrand, as part of our 150th anniversary celebrations.

🎶 A memorable evening of music and wonder, where we were transported into the captivating world of the Game of Thrones series!

We are proud to have supported this show as a patron, contributing to the cultural development of our region.
