Visits to our plant are increasing… but each group is different!

On Tuesday, May 5, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Association for the Heritage and History of Industry in Dauphiné (APHID), which promotes industry in the Dauphiné region, with a special extension to Savoie for this visit.

Today, our site is the last mill in France producing virgin fiber-based paperboard. As such, it represents a unique industrial heritage that we are proud to preserve and share with as many people as possible.

Among the visitors, some were already familiar with our plant, having worked on-site as contractors or during technical shutdowns for new equipment installations. This visit offered them a fresh perspective on the site, along with the opportunity to see how it has evolved over the years.

Many thanks to Quentin Haezebrouck, our Production Director, for guiding our visitors.

On Wednesday, April 29, La Rochette Cartonboard took part in the “Jeunes d’Avenirs” job fair in Villeurbanne.

Alongside OPCO 2i, under the “Avec l’Industrie®” banner, we mainly engaged with students from the Lyon area looking for apprenticeships, as well as job seekers interested in discovering careers and pathways in the industry.

It was an opportunity for us to:
✔️ Introduce the paper and board industry and its professions
✔️ Present our know-how and our history
✔️ Share our job opportunities in the Lyon area

These meetings are essential today to spark curiosity and show that the paper and board industry offers a wide range of meaningful and future-oriented careers.

Many thanks to OPCO 2i for the welcome – and to Industrie Papier Carton.

For the second year in a row, we opened our doors to 8th and 9th grade students from our local middle school: Collège Val Gelon in La Rochette.

🎯 Objectives: to showcase the paper and cardboard industry, share our history and professions, and challenge common misconceptions about the sector.

These moments are essential to strengthen our connection with young people in the local community and to help make the industry more accessible and attractive to the next generation.

💼 And who knows? Perhaps we’ve inspired some people to pursue a career in this field?

On Friday, April 10, we welcomed 30 German visitors for a personalized tour of our factory, as part of the festivities organized by the twinning committee of the municipality of Valgelon-La-Rochette and Mömlingen 🇩🇪🤝🇫🇷

La Rochette Cartonboard is an integral part of the local landscape, economy, and industrial heritage. It therefore felt only natural for us to open our doors for this festive occasion! 🎉

Many thanks to Didier Scheidecker for his guided explanations in German, sharing our expertise, history, and manufacturing process.

On Tuesday, March 24, La Rochette Cartonboard took part in the IUT Chambéry Work-Study Forum 🎓

This morning was a great opportunity to connect with students from the BUT Packaging, Packaging and Conditioning program, and to introduce them to our history, our expertise, and our products.

These exchanges are essential to showcase our paperboard solutions to those who will design the packaging of tomorrow — whether with our clients or, who knows, within our company through an internship or a work-study program.

🙌 📸 A big thank you to IUT Chambéry for the organization, the photos/videos, and to the students for the quality of our discussions!

Last Friday, March 20, we opened the doors of our factory to the general public and job seekers as part of the national “Usines Ouvertes” (Open Factories) event, organized by the Société des ingénieurs Arts et Métiers (Arts et Métiers Alumni).

👉 What a day! What a success!

A total of 37 visitors came to meet us and discover our history, papermaking professions, as well as our environmental commitments and challenges.

It was a great opportunity to share a behind-the-scenes look at the manufacturing of our virgin fiber-based board, and to highlight a unique expertise we have been preserving since 1873 — making our site the last factory in France to produce this type of board.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to our teams whose commitment made this event a real success 🙌

Another successful factory tour took place on Wednesday, March 18!
We had the pleasure of welcoming 8 teachers from middle and high schools (as well as one kindergarten teacher!) from Savoie and Isère.

This marked the 3rd consecutive visit organized since 2024 in partnership with the Fondation CGénial, which works to bring the worlds of education and business closer together. 🎓💼

100% of our objectives achieved:

✔️ Showcasing our company and its history dating back to 1873
✔️ Presenting careers in the paper and cardboard industry
✔️ Explaining our industrial process combining tradition, innovation, and environmental responsibility
✔️ Promoting our Made in France expertise, rooted in the local economy
✔️ Strengthening collaboration between businesses and the national education system
✔️ Raising awareness of the Alp’paper collective

A big thank you to these teachers—true ambassadors—who help inspire and guide future generations toward careers in the paper and cardboard industry.

📢 ✅ Renewal of our ISO 9001 and ISO 50001 certifications

We have successfully passed the surveillance audit for our ISO 9001 and ISO 50001 certifications!

👉 A dual recognition that reflects our strong commitment to customer satisfaction and energy performance.

These certifications are much more than standards: they demonstrate our dedication to continuous improvement, ensure the compliance of our products and services with applicable requirements and regulations, and highlight the rigor of our day-to-day practices. They also reflect our commitment to our stakeholders, environmental protection, and addressing climate-related challenges.

The auditor also highlighted the teams’ dynamism, the many actions carried out, the level of rigor applied, and all the good practices implemented.

👑 So… who found the fève in January?

On January 21, 23, and 28, we celebrated together the New Year, Epiphany, and our collective success in achieving the ISO 22000 certification during enjoyable moments shared with all the teams.

In total, 43 galettes were distributed, meaning many kings and queens were crowned! Once again, CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to everyone!

Together, let’s keep moving Towards New Heights ⛰️

La Rochette Cartonboard is proud to announce that we have obtained ISO 22 000 certification.

This standard ensures a high level of safety for our products, primarily intended for the food and pharmaceutical sectors, and integrates risk analysis at all levels.

It has been many months of preparation, training, and large-scale cross-functional projects. The team spirit, the partnerships across our value chain, and the commitment of our employees made the successful achievement of this milestone possible! ⛰️
