Raising awareness among young students about careers in the paper and board industry also means preparing for the future!

As part of the Alp’paper working group, which brings together paper and board industry players in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region—and under the initiative of Industrie Papier Carton / AFIFOR—educational workshops are being held in primary schools across Isère and Savoie, near our industrial sites.

We had the pleasure of representing La Rochette Cartonboard during one of these workshops at La Neuve School in La Rochette, with a CM1 (4th grade) class.

This moment of exchange was an opportunity to:
✅ Promote our industry and its know-how
✅ Introduce children to paper/board-related careers
✅ Spark curiosity about sustainable materials

These workshops are structured into 4 key phases:
• Everyday uses of paper and board
• The history of the “paper trail”
• Paper manufacturing processes
• Environmental protection in the industry

Training to prevent: focus on safety!

Prevention and safety at the heart of our priorities to reach new heights! ⛰️

On Wednesday, May 21, 45 employees took part in a training session to become First Response Team Members in the event of a fire outbreak. 🔥

The program included:

✅ Identifying the right reflexes to adopt in the event of a fire
✅ Understanding the key role of the First Response Team Member
✅ Practicing the use of a fire extinguisher in real-life conditions

This awareness training is essential to ensure everyone’s safety on-site.

On Tuesday, May 6th, we took part — for the second year in a row — in the job dating event organized by Lycée Gaspard Monge in Chambéry.

🎯 Objectives:
• Meet and recruit our future apprentices in mechanics, metalworking, and electricity
• Promote our company, our professions, and our expertise

Results: Great conversations with motivated and curious young talents!

Another step towards energy efficiency

We recently replaced all the infrared heaters on the second coating station of our machine 3.

This new equipment will reduce our gas consumption by an estimated 15% compared with the old models.

By investing in more efficient technologies, we are demonstrating our determination to reconcile industrial performance with environmental responsibility and a reduction in our carbon footprint.

In the first quarter of 2025, we successfully passed the ISO 9 001, ISO 50 001 and FSC® FSC – C120067 follow-up audits.

👉 This triple recognition reflects our commitment to :

These certifications are much more than standards: they reflect our desire for continuous improvement, ensure that our products and services comply with current requirements and regulations, and illustrate our daily rigour. Visit to the second professional bac on Friday 4 April

On Friday 4 April, we had the pleasure of opening our doors to 20 students from the second year of the Bac pro Procédés de la Chimie, de l’Eau et des Papiers-Cartons (PCEPC) programme at the Lycée Louis Armand in Chambéry.

The programme included a tour of our plant, followed by a discussion about our company and a presentation by one of our employees on his day-to-day work and career development.

Getting young people interested in our businesses means preparing the future of our industry. Perhaps we have awakened vocations to recruit the future cardboard workers of tomorrow? 💡📦

On Thursday 27 March, we had the pleasure of welcoming our colleagues from the Alp’paper collective, followed by a tour of our plant.

Created at the initiative of AFIFOR / IPC, this working group brings together stakeholders in the paper and cardboard industry in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes with three objectives:

✅ To promote our industry and its know-how

✅ To promote the paper/cardboard professions

✅ To share best practices between companies in the sector and have regular exchanges

🚛 ABB Pulp & Paper visit our site!

On Thursday 13 March, we had the pleasure of welcoming the ABB Pulp & Paper 2025 demonstration truck.

This day was an opportunity for our employees to discover their innovative solutions for optimising the entire paperboard manufacturing process: pulp preparation, management of motors and sensors, quality control and control of installations.

This immersive visit offered a view of an automated, connected and optimised mill, with equipment dedicated to operators and laboratories, all aboard a specially equipped truck.

Thanks to our partner ABB for this demonstration, which attracted the interest of more than 25 employees!

La Rochette moves into action with 8 continuous improvement projects leading to certification!

Since the end of December 2024, we have been running training courses in the fundamentals of Lean Management within our teams, to boost agility, encourage continuous improvement and promote collaboration.

On Tuesday 18 February, 8 continuous improvement projects were presented, enabling project managers to acquire the skills they need to manage both simple and complex initiatives and ensure effective deployment at all levels of the company.

Following these presentations, the belts were conferred:

– 7 Yellow Belt 🟡

– 1 Green Belt Confirmation La Rochette Cartonboard 🟢
